home brew shops in NY City

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows of/ could recommend a place to buy a start-up kit for homebrewing beer in the NY City area. The closer to Manhattan the better.

My parents live in Westchester so I went to the one in Eastchester. It is in the basement of a hardware store.

They had everything I needed except they were out of Hydrometers(they said more were comming in tomorrow). I just got the heavy stuff (bottles, carboys, etc) that is expensive to ship and mail ordered the rest.

My advice is to call ahead.

I hope to brew my first batch next week!
