SHMBO wants me to "auction off" a home brew session for the PTO. I'm all about it and the PTO is on board too, I just don't know how to do it. The plan is to have two winners and they learn the basics and get some beer in the end.

I've thought of three different ways to do it:

1. Do a brew session with the winners, let the beer ferment, then have them over to bottle it up.

2. Do the brew session, then bottle it up when it is done and get it to them.

or

3. Brew the same beer we would brew about 2-3 weeks before hand so then we could brew and bottle the same day.

Has anyone done something like this for charity? If so are there options I'm missing, or which one of these is the best way to go?

Thanks

I've not done it for charity but a couple of my friends "hired" me to have a brew on premises for their hubbies on Fathers' day a few yrs back (the wives paid for the ingredients, I got paid in pizza). I vote for having them brew the beer then come back to bottle in a few wks. I would think that, like my friends, the winners would want the beer they actually helped brew. Plus I hate bottling so I had them come do all the work under the guise of "learning the whole process". I let them pick the style and then made up a recipe for them. It was fun.
