Can you put the PI in the fridge?

Has anybody used it? Last night I dug out an old raspberry pi 3b and created a wifi access point next to my fridge (with an ss conical inside) yet my signal is still never better than -80db.

The pill next to the pi is -50db so I lose up to 40db from the fridge and tank.

Will going Bluetooth fix this?
I've used it with an esp32 bluetooth proxy. The signal was super spotty even with the esp32 right on top of the conical. Going to try some stuff with another AP I have lying around. It made the integration into home assistant easy, however there was no integration to pump out the data to the RAPT site. Also this integration does not pull the calculated velocity (sg/hour) value.

I was hoping to make some automations with the fermenter temp controller I built through home assistant, but am left scratching my head with the whole conical issue.

In the end I got the rapt temper Controller from als express pretty cheap.

If I had a more modern apartment that was somewhat automateable I'd probably play with Home Assistant but this is ready to go so 🤷‍♂️
