i will soon be building myself a keezer to house some recently acquired (for FREE) kegs. i plan on going with either a holiday or ge brand 7.0 cubic foot freezer. i've seen several builds based on each model, but i have read many negative reviews of the holiday freezers; apparently they tend to die after 2-3 years. i've also read that the ge is an equally cheap chinese unit, but i've read mostly positive reviews about it.

can those of you who have experience with either of these units elaborate on their quality (ie. cooling/overheating, longevity, any problems)?

I've got a Keezer made from a Holiday 7.0 chest freezer and it's worked great for a year and a half. If you can get them on sale, you can get a steal for a chest freezer. Mine was 150 delivered. At that price point, even if it needs to be replaced every 3 years it's fine by me.

For what it's worth....I've got a GE purchased from sams club, still just a food freezer thats running great for 3 years now.

I'm pretty sure I'm about to buy a Holiday 7 and convert to a keezer, I've seen the threads you pointed out about the quality and end of life but alot of these are made in the same shop more or less. I expect the Holiday to last as long as the GE. I'm going for the Holiday just because I've got some Lowes gift cards to spend, otherwise I'd buy either one.
