Hmg in bock

So today i made muntons connoisseurs bock. I used 500g spray malt light and 1L or 1.35kg brewers syrup HMG. I was. Wondering whats the benefits of using brewers syrup over and/or peoples thoughts. I see the can said og 1.040-1.044 and end at 1.008 I had 1.056 as og so should have stronger beer if I end around 1.008 also used spray malt to try and make a better beer.

So I've been drinking some and they are good, they have a lot of sediment in the bottles but that might be cause i used dark brown sugar to batch prime. They taste crisp with still a dark beer finish.nice head but goes away for most part.8/10. Will be using hmg brewing syrup again next batch.
