I missed the food part above and thought we got some brewery info for FoFA, went to the site so fast. Food lineup is on point and the beer lineup always is. Hopefully this year there's not a massive thunderstorm and it'll be perfect.

We all know it's gonna happen, may as well just accept it now.

I'm planning on coming out again this year, so it's pretty much guaranteed. My visits have been: 1) snow storm in late May for the 2013 anniversary party, 2) 4-foot blizzard for CW pickup #1, 3) thunderstorm for FoFA, 4) 90 degrees in late September for CW pickup #2. I expect nothing less than thundersnow this August.

Just had my first explosive HF beer. Pulled a Nordic Saison out of my wine fridge at 52 degrees. Opened the bottle and before the cap was removed it was coming out like crazy. Only got about 6 ounces out of the bottle.

17 06 22 was the bottle date. Anyone else have a similar situation? I have a bunch more from this batch. Nordic is one of my favorite beers.

Saw some similar reports from this batch, but all of mine have been fine so far...

Stay out west... ;)

I had one Nordic recently that got away from me like yours. One left that quite frankly I'm afraid to risk opening. Not sure of the bottling dates, but bought within the last year.

Peter Nordic batch

Do they always sell them on site? I thought that in years past they only made them available at certain times after the online sale?

Just got here, so I'll ask someone about this in a few.

Also, Gin BA Brother is great. I'll probably be saving my bottle for a while, so I'm glad I got to try it out first.

EDIT: They don't know yet. Let's hope I win some tickets.

Usually after tickets go onsale (and sellout), they will either have announced or unannounced tickets for sale at the brewery. Like 5 pairs for sale starting at noon each day during a specific, single week.

I had two Nordic bottles that both did this. I'm nonot sure if I kept the labels.

Happened to be at HF at open on the day of FOFA 2 years ago (was in the area for a wedding, but sadly couldn't attend) and they had plenty of tickets available for walk up purchases. Not sure if they lasted until the fest began, but they were there that open.

I'm planning on being at Hill Farmstead in mid-May.

I'm too lazy to read the entire thread, but basic bitch details pls (I've been there before)
- Are the lines still god-awful?
- Will there still be snow on the ground? (This impacts the car rental we will need)

I've read the growler and bottle release policies and know my way around a sober line.

I'm open to meeting up if anyone is in the area!

Lines are absolutely nothing like they used to be. There can certainly be lines for bottles, but nothing insane (30ish minutes when it’s very busy?). And the onsite experience is ******* incredible, so even if there’s a line for the retail shop you can wait with a full beer in hand.

If you want absolutely no lines (and are going sometime around open) then just go to the retail shop and knock that out of the way quickly and then go over to the taproom and enjoy. If you want the potential opportunity for random release onsite whalez, go to the taproom first and then retail later (but if it’s busy there may be lines at the retail shop later in the day).

Growler system now uses a deli ticket system, so don’t forget to grab one as you walk into the taproom.

There’s certainly been snow in May before, but it’s a complete crapshoot. If you want to be safe get a snow ready rental, but I would think snow would (mostly) subside by then.

I second everything Nick said, but had a small number of additional thoughts:

- Go to Parker Pie after you visit HF (this is a must); and
- Consider staying at the Highland Lodge during your time in the Northeast Kingdom because it is awesome.

Also, I think there's some magic pipe that Gene gets water from in VT that gives him all of his special magic powers. Maybe he can pm the location to you if you ask nicely.

I was planning on Parker Pie and Positive Pie already (I loved them on my last trip 5 years ago) -- glad to see they're still worth it!

I'll look into Highland Lodge for sure. Thanks!

I'll never forget when I went up in July of 2016 with my now wife. We went to the retail shop first because I was afraid of missing out on Barrel-Aged Dorothy. After we got our bottles, we head over to the tasting room for the first time and we had no idea how the line situation worked with bottle pours/drafts/growlers. With that, we ended up on the wrong side of the bar, allowing others to go in front. Then, the person in front of us bought the last bottle of 2014 Ann.
