There used to be deals at that place ages ago - those days are long gone, even during mud season. The owners know it's one of the few name hotels in the area and the prices have shot up with all the beer tourism etc. in the last couple years. The Fairfield up the road is about another 50-100 bucks more per night.

If the Stagecoach is full Airbnb is the way to go in the area.

Yes. I thought when they built the new hotel the Best western would lower the prices based on competition..instead they both are high. Airbnb is the best way for sure

When we arrived Ann and Time and Being were sold out today around 2:30. The place was pretty empty.

Luckily, they had plenty of Arthur 2011 and CD15, both superior in my opinion. Stellar day at the hill, this batch of enlightenment is fantastic as well....

2011 Arthur was so good. A real nice softness while being crisp, but not overly dry. A very cool experience to be able to drink.

Best drinking experience of the day... Shirley Mae: Sunrise Edition on Nitro. I want to start every Sunday morning with that beer.

I know I'm opening myself to homer comments... but give it a listen. You'll notice his tone is not at all negative. It's very realistic. As mentioned, the industry does not self criticize enough. How else can you grow and improve if you don't challenge yourself and your peers? If anything, it's optimistic because he's looking at ways of advancing what he does and what exists in the beer culture.

It summer and many people have things come up. I have been able to get tickets last minute before at face value.

I Cannot promise you this will work, but you might have better luck getting tickets as the event draws closer than you will now.

Nothing is stopping me from looking for tickets, but we're already going up at the end of September. No way I can sell my wife on the idea of going two months in a row.

They offered 5 pairs of non-transferable tickets the Wednesday-Saturday before FOFA. I think they also had tickets available in June 2015 (the same week that Cherry Flora was released and they offered a different lambic each day), but that was also announced in advance.

I somehow convinced my wife that an early May trip AND a FOFA trip made sense. Looking to fly her up so she doesn't have to take time off, though she probably wouldn't have been too crushed if we hadn't of won tickets

Unrelated lodging comment/question: I'm surprised more people don't make Burlington their home base. Is it because many are coming from eastern New England? Burlington is only about 25 minutes from Waterbury and is a downright awesome town. Every time I go to Hill we stay there. More to do; although admittedly it's a nostalgic place for me. I love Burlington.
