Has DB Damon been offered to CW members?
You can obviously tell if a bottle has been released to CW members as some continue to b̶r̶a̶g̶ post on this forum when they get the info on new bottles coming. The official Hill announcements for the pleebs have lost their luster as you can turn to this forum for ambiguous, gloating giggles when new offerings are released.

Yup, that was my not so subtle attempt at taking a jab at those who continue this behavior.

so has anyone in the thread opened the newest release of phenomenology yet? i really dug the last version but i'm curious what this new one is like considering there's not mention of spontaneous fermentation. haven't seen any chatter yet

You wouldn't appreciate an extra few days to potentially plan a trip for a release? Guess I'll return to my prior contributions to this thread like quoting and agreeing with anyone that praises 7/2014 Florence, sir :p

I just feel that Hill officially announces beer releases when they want the information out
to the public. Sharing news ahead of that seems to go against their intentions and could potentially jeopardize future CW rounds (all tho I'm sure this thread has minimal effect on their operations and plans).

I've personally adopted a fight club mentality about CW.

That Double Barrel Damon was a nice surprise on site today. Nose on that beer was incredible, hard to compare to a beer I had so long ago, but I do think I enjoyed it slightly more than b1. One tiny complaint was that it was a touch thin but this is mostly just a product of being such low carb. But huge chocolate, dark fruit, perhaps a bit of maple, and sweet but a treat to drink.

Other highlights today included Flora b6 and 2014 Aaron. Could not partake in either due to the drive and the longest line I've seen at HF in months. Overall, another fun day in Vermont!

I, for one, appreciate the extra notice. I also enjoy the brief FOMO panic.

Not to change the subject, because this could get interesting, but anyone care to share their favorite HF beers of 2016?

Aaron and Clover are two obvious picks, but one of the biggest surprises for me was Barrel Aged Dorothy. I don't love Dorothy the same way I do some of the other regulars, but the BA variant was beautiful. Something about the way that the barrel character worked with the lemon/brett/grassiness that was really special.

100% agree on BA Dorothy. And if we're talking solely "new" beers for 2016 I'll add Flora Peach/Pear and GoM Kieni to the mix. If not, Mary is always on my favorite HF beers list haha

Either BA Dorothy or 2016 Vera Mae for me, but I haven't had Clover, Art, Aaron, Kenya GoM, etc. i.e. most of the heaviest hitters.

I generally like and appreciate posts from CW members that say what's being released. I generally dislike posts that are vague and provide little information other than that the poster in question is a member of CW (e.g., "Boy this month's CW offerings are killer!" with no actual information about the bottles being released).

Favorite new Hill beers this year have been Clover and M&C 5, with Elaborative 5, "new" Vera Mae, and Sumner close behind. Damon was probably my favorite release in general.

Clover is a given. It was absolutely wonderful and, coming from a cat lady, a really nice tribute. ;)

I would also cast votes for Flora PP and Elab 5. Those two were stellar. For the former, it was my fave of the Floras; for the latter, that tea was magical. Elab doesn't always go as noticed as others (from what I've seen), but that 5 was damn good.

The 5/25/16 batch of Florence was also tits.

On-site Ann, MC5, Elab 5, Double Galaxy, GoM

Yes so much

I drank BA Dorothy on a beach, so that was kind of magical.

Elab 5 was special. Flora Plum batch 2(not sure if that came out in 16 but I drank it for my birthday this year). 5/16 Anna was great, very different, much more brett forward than any Anna I'd had previously. Sumner was my favorite hoppy beer I had all year.

I'm a bit surprised this year's Damon isn't getting much love, definitely one of my favorites from 2016

Heard good things just have not opened mine yet. I really feel like WoL: Anchorage doesn t get all he praise it deserves, I like it more than the really hyped stuff that came out of the brewery this year

I think I prefered BG&E to M&C5 but probably not by a long shot... I just enjoyed a 3-4oz pour multiple times a day which may be the reason it was more enjoyable

Flora and DBD both being available on-site yesterday was such a treat.
Florence is my favorite of the standard offerings, and the wine barrel treatment for Flora knocks it out of the park. So nice, and delicate.
DBD was unreal. Quite possibly the best beer I've ever smelled, and I refuse to believe that there is no maple syrup involved. Next time gimme a stack of pancakes to pour it over.
