Is there an official word on CW members also being allowed to buy a public allotment. I know friends of the brewery would be able to but more so wondering if there's an official stance.

Kinda assumed that CW members couldn't buy more than their allotment (which is twice the public allotment for this particular release) but I could certainly be wrong.

I emailed them before the draw and asked and the reponse I got was this...

You can still come and purchase beers that are generally available in the retail shop on a weekly basis, you'll just only be able to pick-up the Collected Works beers during the third or fourth week of each month.

Please let me know if that explains the process, and let me know if you have any follow up questions. Good luck in the lottery!

To me that would mean no. "Generally available in the retail shop on a weekly basis " wouldn't mean limited releases.
But I'm a English major and a strict constructionist, and don't know ****

Anyway, I didn't get in so it doesn't concern me :(

I'm feeling the Vermont fever come on, it's really a shame.

Hasn't hit me on a Wednesday since the Art release so I guess I can't complain too much.

I honestly think it's ****** if CW can buy even more bottles at the retail release. Sure I'm bummed I didn't get it and jealous of those who did, but if I was in I wouldn't expect to be able to buy additional bottles of limited releases. But if I was allowed to I probably would as well.

TL;DR

If I was in CW I'd buy additional bottles if I could, but I'd still think it was bogus rule (or lack thereof).

Yeah, given HF's fairly strict bottle release limits, I'd find it pretty shocking if CW members could purchase more bottles beyond their membership allotment. That would undercut any ethos of wanting as many different people to be able to try these beers as possible. (I'm certain some CW members will still find ways to hoard even more via nefarious means. Though, this is a cat-themed beer we're talkin' about, so can ya blame 'em?)

I'm fine either way, I've made peace with my not being selected. Sounds from that quoted answer like they can buy the gen pop allotment as well, which I don't see any problem with.

I don't know that I will ever be 100% fine with not getting in but I accept it, kinda... Not completely but partially... Almost, in a way... I guess

Besides I think most people that got in won't be going to get more bottles every release and are happy to go 2 or 4 times a year to pick up their bottles. I have no problem with the fact that they can pick a few extras when they do if it happens to be during a release week

14 had a rough nose for the first 30 seconds or so. Once it aired it a little, it was one of my favorite HF ever this time around. Tasting really good right now, much better than when I had it around release. Dry with a ton of nuance.

Lots of Brett character. Unique. A little sweet, then tart and slightly salty with some Brett character that reminds me of the smell of hay. Definitely changed since release and is more distinct from Ann than ever.

Both seem to be in a good place for drinking at the moment. Enjoy.

Have had 10, 11 and 14 each about 3-5 times. 14 fresh was at the time one of if not my favorites of the series, but I've liked it less and less each time thereafter, with the worst being the one I had last week after Zwanze (still not a bad beer, just a glimmer of what it was IMO).

Last I had 10 was almost a year ago, and that beer was amazing every time I had it, just different. 11 was unreal fresh, and have had mixed results since then, with the latest being over a year ago.

Cd 10 was the first ba beer I've had from Hill it was about 2 months after moving to Vermont and was by far one of the most eye opening experiences I ever had with American beer. I was in such aww. I couldn't believe I could get so much funk and a beer could be that good, and not be lambic. Cd 11 was great, but 10 won that battle as Art did with Ann. Cd 14 was one of my all time favs fresh and held up well the few times I've had it since release minus the initial very vinous , almost vinegary aroma, . I was reorganizing the cellar and noticed I had some things that I forgot about or extras and was wondering how they were holding up. I appreciate the feedback. Thank you!

anybody pop a top on a can of On Fleek yet?

picked up a 4 pack this weekend, interested in any opinions. 13 % for a non ba stout is ......woosh!

Had a couple earlier in the summer...it's pretty gnarly. Pours like a motor oil. Can definitely feel some heat (I mean 13% come on), but overall pretty solid non-BA stout that is a tasty treat. Would love to see what it's like with some adjuncts
