Some crazy new thing you always see in that group, if someone bids within 5 minutes of close add another 5 minutes to auction end for others to bid again (at least that's how I understand it)

People were telling him earlier that each ticket could get $200+ if he listed it. So glad TB is different than most other places!

I got tagged in that (because someone knew I was looking for a ticket for someone else) and immediately unfollowed it. I won't pay more than face value + thank you beers for festival tickets, ever.

Alright details have been finalized for the charter to FOFA...Details below...

VTBrewbus FOFA Charter

To provide attendees an option to adhere with Hill Farmstead’s Festival of Farmhouse Ales (FOFA) Designated Driver request, a charter bus option has been created for the event for those without a DD or for those who would like a comfortable alternative option to travel that day. The bus will leave from Waterbury Train Station parking lot at 9:30am and travel to the Festival grounds. It will depart the festival at approximately 5:00pm and return to Waterbury thereafter. Cost for the trip will be $30pp and covers the round trip cost of the charter and tip for the driver. Water will be available as well.

This transportation option is being coordinated separately from the brewery but in accordance with its rules for the day.

Some items to note when signing up:

- Sign up with be a first come first serve. There are 50 seats available.

- A waitlist will be created for folks signing up over the first 50

- FOFA ticket confirmation number will be required to confirm that rider has ticket

Once sign up has been confirmed(w/ emailed response), Payment will be required reserve your spot(s)

Some items to note for festival day:

- There will be no alcohol consumption on the bus to the festival

- Any persons deemed intoxicated prior to entry will not be allowed entrance

- If a retail option for bottles is available, there will be space available on the bus to store any purchases

- A rest room and water will be available on the charter

Please send an email Subject "FOFA Charter" with the following information to [email protected]

- Name of ticket holder & number of attendees (1 or 2)

- Ticket confirmation #

- Day of event contact (email or phone#)

Once received, a confirmation email will be sent along with payment information. Funds will be held until Aug 1st then payment & sign up with become non-refundable.


Waterbury Lodging

For anyone planning to stay in Waterbury, the Best Western has committed to providing a discount to their nightly rate for anyone staying that weekend and they mention that they are there for the festival. Contact the hotel for specifics.

We are at 30 people signed up for the Brew-ber FOFA Charter. All TB'ers. 20 Spots left. If you are thinking about hoping on the bus, get your info in before it's filled up...New item to note, there has been a few glassware items donated for attendees to be drawn on the way up and the way back.

Went up yesterday mid-afternoon - the system they were running worked excellent. Plastic cups were a surprise, but it didn't bother me - Karma Emulsion was great. Growlers took maybe 10 minutes, granted it wasn't super busy, but it wasn't dead either. Cannot say enough how well the staff does with anticipating crowds and adjusting the format/set-up.

Aside from that, enjoying some S&S 8 now. As if HF didn't make enough incredible IPAs, this is killer. The simcoe adds a perfect grassy note on the back end to complement the juicy citra and mosaic. Might be second to S&S 4 in the series for me. Would hit again.

Popcorn bidding is a pretty standard thing in a lot of auction systems (I think most penny auctions use it, for instance). It's basically a way to prevent last-minute "auction swiping" which you see on basically any in-demand item on Ebay. I've lost track of how many times I've been bidding on a piece of climbing equipment or a jacket and my high bid gets pipped with 1 second left on the auction.

Had a fantastic time at the brewery last Wednesday with a buddy who came with for the first time. We got there a little before open and chatted in the lot with a few others including a first timer all the way from NC just there to check out the brewery and get some growlers. We got inside and ordered a bottle of CD 7 which was out of this world. Without telling the NC guy, we decided to surprise him and include him in our onsite bottles, and ended up having a blast for the next hour.

I'm convinced that every time I get up there, the experiences continue to get better and better.

That's entirely up to you. I personally have more than I know what to do with so stopped buying them months ago.

Last year over FoFA weekend I ended up giving away a dozen of them that I'd brought with me, having accumulated them from previous trips. With the wait times and growler limits being what they were, it seemed prudent to just fill up 2L ones.

Reporting back on how CD15 is holding up. Still a tart mango bomb. This bottle wasn't as crystal clear as the last even tho it's been untouched since release. Not quite as carbed, but very drinkable and absoultely worth drinking. No complaints by any means. Just observations.

all varies depending on what's released... they usually open both the bottles to go only room and tasting/growler room simultaneously, but that has varied before....

expect a generally fast moving line for bottles only... really always moves fast and rarely is it a long wait
as for growlers, it depends on how many people are there... you can always have a beer while you wait for your number to get called

I appreciate the info. Honestly I kind of hope there's nothing special happening. I'm perfectly content with picking up shelfies, grabbing a growler or three and taking it all in.

even on busy days, if you don't care about a special bottle selling out, you can grab a ticket, get a beer and a cheese plate and chill while you wait...
