Went up yesterday mid-afternoon - the system they were running worked excellent. Plastic cups were a surprise, but it didn't bother me - Karma Emulsion was great. Growlers took maybe 10 minutes, granted it wasn't super busy, but it wasn't dead either. Cannot say enough how well the staff does with anticipating crowds and adjusting the format/set-up.
Aside from that, enjoying some S&S 8 now. As if HF didn't make enough incredible IPAs, this is killer. The simcoe adds a perfect grassy note on the back end to complement the juicy citra and mosaic. Might be second to S&S 4 in the series for me. Would hit again.
Did she get sick? Our dish washer may or may not be in working order at the moment...
It extends the auction by 5 minutes should a bid come in close to the end.Dafuq is 5 minute popcorn
I mean, it makes sense, but that's a dumb ******* name.Popcorn bidding is a pretty standard thing in a lot of auction systems (I think most penny auctions use it, for instance). It's basically a way to prevent last-minute "auction swiping" which you see on basically any in-demand item on Ebay. I've lost track of how many times I've been bidding on a piece of climbing equipment or a jacket and my high bid gets pipped with 1 second left on the auction.

Should I even bother bringing a bunch of 750 ml branded HF growlers to get filled, or is it quicker/easier to just pay the $3 to get new ones?

So guys if I were to go to HF on a Friday in October, say... The 7th. What should I expect if I arrive at opening? I've never been, so I'm trying to figure out what I should anticipate if I just want to buy shelf bottles and maybe fill a growler or two. I'll have my wife in tow, but she's a gamer.

all varies depending on what's released... they usually open both the bottles to go only room and tasting/growler room simultaneously, but that has varied before....
expect a generally fast moving line for bottles only... really always moves fast and rarely is it a long wait
as for growlers, it depends on how many people are there... you can always have a beer while you wait for your number to get called
Also expect alot of traffic south of Greensboro, that's prime leaf peeping season. Rubberneckers abound.

Grabbing a grabber ftw. See something, say something.I appreciate the info. Honestly I kind of hope there's nothing special happening. I'm perfectly content with picking up shelfies, grabbing a grabber or three and taking it all in.
