sooo my Nordic mag exploded the other night...

(hard to see but thats a chunk of glass missing from the top)

(it also cracked at the bottom)

i'm gonna guess it had something to do with how full it was, it was literally filled to the cap. i thought about saying something when i bought it but i thought it was fine since they were selling it and i've never had that problem before. i emailed them but haven't heard anything yet. it scared the **** out of me though! hahahaha

Yesterday was an amazing day at Hill!!! glad I got to finally tick this bad girl off my list.

I missed this by one person on Saturday. Brutal to watch it unfold.

  • Society & Solitude #6: Imperial Pale Ale hopped exclusively with Mosaic. 8% abv ($10/$22)
Probably my favorite of the series...that being said, I feel like last time S&S 6 said it was "almost exclusively" brewed/hopped with Mosaic. Anyone else notice this or was I just hallucinating...again

A word to the wise: The bottle supply was very small for last year so be prepared to try and get in line early, and SHARE with each other!!!

Last year:
I asked the bartender about the very short bottle list a few minutes before 5PM having arrived there very early and was told that it was in fact the only bottle list. Those I was with told the bartender that we had been told at the festival that SP bottles would be present at very least. The bartender shrugged (probably didn't know or care, fair enough).

Sure enough, 5 minutes later, friends walking by the table were asking me if I got Pulling Nails 3 and Thicket. 5 O'Clock hit, the new list had gone out and was all purchased on the spot.

A total single case of Side Project bottles split between Ble, Thicket and PN3 had been sold. Bernice was on the list (1 case), but apparently those bottles did not make it to the party, nor did any SARA.

So I think a total of one case of SP bottles and the leftover Tilquin was the entent of the bottle list. Hell of a lot of great HF taps though, and some CS and Jackie-Os guest taps.

I don't think Parker Pie controls what they get for the party, so it's probably hard for them to control any related factors like distribution of such bottles. They seem to do a good job managing the crowds which are insane to accommodate at such a small place.
