What ever happened to those barrels that HF used to age maple syrup? I was under the impression that beer was going to go into those but I feel like it's been a couple years. Anyone know anything about it?

was wondering the same thing yesterday morning as i poured that sweet sweet sizzurp on my oatmeal.

I thought it was supposed to be for the next batch of BG&E.

it's a dark ba saison. it's $30.
I'd personally rather have 3 of whatever shelf saison is available based on every dark HF saison i've had in the past.

No love for Edith? I understand the $30 thing, but I thought CD16 was phenomenal. I got tons of convivial in it, didn't necessarily taste "dark" to me.

Given a limited budget, I'd rather buy HF beers I know I will enjoy more. Clearly lots of other visitors over the past month or two have the same idea.

I've had enough HF dark 'saisons' with a SRM >10 to know what doesn't tickle my fancy (see phemenology, cd4, norma, elab#1,prolegomena). Thankfully, I gave up caring about ticking every HF beer once I hit 100.

I'll give you Prolegomena and maybe CD4 (been a while since I last had that and memory can be fuzzy...) but Phenomonology aged beautifully into something *great*, as does Norma (I'm not a big fan of Norma freshish, but after about 6 months, woah nelly!). will need to re-visit my last Elab1...

I wasn't a fan of Edith in the past, and was hesitant to grab a CD16. But I have to say, this beer really impressed me, didn't come across like a dark saison at all. Had that perfect tartness that we've come to expect from them, wonderful carb level, almost champagne like.

Had CD4 a couple weeks ago for the first time and thought it was excellent. Had CD16 right before and found it pretty meh.

Does anyone else think there's a ton of Convivial in CD16? To me it tasted like a barrel aged Convivial would taste. Obviously there's more in the blend too. But I'd be shocked if there wasn't any Convivial in the blend. Freaking loved it.

Also, send me your HF dark saisons. Have always loved Edith. CD4, CD8, CD12 and CD16 all great I think. I still have one Phenomenology (spontaneaous, but still) that I'm waiting to open too.

CD16's makeup is less than 5% Convivial...

Anyone know if there were any bottles not listed under "onsite consumption" yesterday or today that are/were available? Not talking about Ann.

Headed up tomorrow for my birthday.
