Anyone know if Susan didn't have Riwaka in it at any point?

I smoke a lot of weed and am not super bright to begin with, but I think the first batch had it, and batches after did not, due to availability. They reworked the recipe to get a similar hop profile. No clue where it's at now, but I do know it's delicious no matter what is in it.

Yes! I remember going to the brewery shortly after b1 and asking about b2. I was told they couldn't get the hops so it would be slightly different. I wasn't sure if anyone else heard anything similar.

The description on their site says Riwaka.. Guess I'll have to go get some next time it's up. You know... For science.

I'm pretty sure it's explicitly said Riwaka several times in on the retail page in the past few years. It did at the end of January:

This new batch of Arthur (1/14/16) is super funky
I dont know if I would describe it as funky but I thought it was wonderful last night. Its everything you want in a classic saison. Tart, creamy, slightly spiced, wheaty. Never had it fresh before and it was incredible.

Yeah, I liked it a lot, just didn't get that typical Arthur tartness...

Drinking Anna from 3/2015. Bursting with lemon and yogurt. Pull one from your cellar

Drank one on Friday, wonderful stuff.

That's strikingly clear.

I was shocked as well. Literally see through like a pilsner. The bottle has been stored upright between 51 and 55F untouched since it was released. That pic is of the first pour. The second pour I had was much cloudier like when I had it fresh. 1st pour was probably a proper bottle conditioned pour and 2nd pour had more of whatever was sitting towards the bottom of the bottle? Regardless of the visual, the taste was everything I was hoping for.

Opened one last weekend, and as much as I enjoyed that beer fresh, the beer vs mangoes balance might be perfect right now.

I had it fresh back in November and today. I think the flavors have melded well. I'd say I like it a little more now, but either way it's drinking amazing right now.

Idk what beer yall are drinking but the last two 15s I opened left a lot to be desired.. Nowhere near it's fresh glory

Idk it tasted great to me from what I remember when I had it fresh. Then again after working the grave yard shift for years i'm convinced my brain is basically Swiss Cheese..... My memory is gone.... What were we talking about ?

Also, another topic that ties into HF and among every other brewery is the preception that the way a beer looks will influence it's taste. I bring this up because the first pour of CD15 was crystal clear, but the aroma, taste, and mouthfeel were perfect. I wasn't upset the pour didn't look like mango juice, actually the opposite that something that looked so deceivingly average could deliver on so many levels.

In the IPA category I too fell victim where if it didn't have Chill Haze and looked like Tropicana it couldn't be that hoppy.... I learned first hand yesterday looks can be deceiving. Don't judge a book by it's cover ?

there's a big difference between some haze in the beer because clearing it up any further will affect the beer... and what we see from other breweries which can range from not trying at all to purposely going out of their way to make it look more turbid
