flora b/b is available in bottles line only, the reason they dropped the limit is so they could sell it via bottles line..... just got of the phone with them. I didnt want to possibly trek out there and get stuck in the growler line.

Opened one last night. No surprise, it's great. It definitely had more tartness than Flora w/ blueberries, which really worked.

They did the same thing in October when we were up, can't remember what it was but they said it was 6 bottles per person via the bottle line or a case via the growler line.

Sounds weird. The only thing I can think of is a "you have to put more time in and spend more money in the growler line to get a bigger limit" reason maybe? Pretty lame if that's the case.

Pace control for distro, doggy. The know the pace they fill growlers at and they can use that speed to estimate the maximum number of customers they may hit off with the allocations. 15 mins for growler fills slows the line a lot more than people just walking up, saying '4 Blue Black plz' and walking out in one minute.

Basically, they have no way of controlling sell-out with a high limit if time is not a factor in how many bottles can walk out the door.

That's nice of them I suppose and they will sell out regardless in a few days but it almost seems like it could poor business move to slow down the sales.

Well, I think it's more the fact that they know it will sell out and want to get it into as many peoples hands as possible/make it last into the weekend etc

Yeah, that's what I said. It just seems to go against business logic. With beer though all logic goes out the window. They could empty all the porta potty waste from the fests in to a foudre to age then bottle it and it would sell out.

Shrug. This is what they've been doing for a long time. Clearly works for them. They're going to sell every bottle of anything they make anyway, in a relatively short time period, and I can't imagine that carrying extra inventory of a few hundred bottles for a couple extra days really makes any type of business difference at all for them. On the other hand, getting bottles into the hands of more people keeps more customers happy.

The only negative is a potential time inconvenience for someone who doesn't want to wait in the growler line/ isn't getting growlers but I guess if you have half a day to waste getting a few beers that probably isn't a deal breaker.

I think you're still misunderstanding what's going on. The beer IS available in bottles only, at the same limit as in the growler line.

I may be but I thought it was only in the growler line yesterday at a 4 bottle limit and now in both lines at a 2 bottle limit? I totally agree about this being pointless but I'm pretty bored at work and decided useless chatter may be more fun than trolling.

Wait...people actually drink these things? I thought they were just used for enhancing the look of one's cellar, bragging to others, posting haul pics on Instragram, and using in combination with 10 other whalez to trade for an SR-71.
