The BoT I had was out of a bottle that I think was end of 2013 and had it relatively fresh.

And if I include BG&E, Damon, Port Damon, GoM, M&C#1/3, Daybreak and Earl.

BG&E > BA Everett > BoT > M&C#1 > Damon > Twilight > Everett > M&C#3 > Port Damon > GoM > Earl > Daybreak

Currently accepting donations of Double Barrel Damon (though I did mix the remnants of a couple oz Damon and Port Damon to make fake DBD and it did end it up better than either on their own, 50/50 blend) and Madness and Civilization #2 so that I can place those on the list accordingly. Will also take donations of Fear and Trembling.

I'm not saying that you're *wrong* - this is obviously personal opinion - but GoM (second release of the more recent bourbon version), Earl, and Everett are by far the three best dark HF beers I've ever had (haven't had M&Cs and BG&E), so I really am a bit thrown off by this list.

And I'm amazed that anyone would rate BA Everett above any other BA dark beer he's done. I thought it was thinner and a bit hot for my tastes. Give me regular Everett over BA Everett any day. I haven't had MC 3, MC 4 or BG&E yet, but my personal list would be:

1. GoM Batch 3...extra time in barrels! Amazing beer.
2. Damon
3. MC 1
4. Everett. If I had one porter/stout to drink for the rest of my days, I'd take Everett happily

Then the rest in no particular order:

BA Everett
GoM batch 2
GoM batch 1 (this was a different animal, I liked it)
MC 2
Earl
DBD (god I wish I got more than 2oz of this one)
Twilight
Daybreak (just had one last week, it's drinking GREAT...even though I couldn't really pick out any citrus.)
Port Damon (only had it fresh and it wasn't my favorite, I'd love to revisit this one)
Fear & Trembling (I hope this one still gets brewed this winter!)

Also, FWIW, I'd take Aaron over all of these.

My opinion of Damon has changed significantly since opening my 2nd bottle this past summer. Cracked a b2 open last November with NYCBUCKEYE and sobeleg and it was thin and super hot. The b2 I opened in June was amazing though - thick and chocolately, nice balance of barrel and roast. No idea if it was bottle variation, or if this last batch just needed more time in bottle, but I would rank Damon B2 behind only M&C 1 as my favorite dark beer Shaun's ever done.

BG&E > BA Everett > BoT > M&C#1 > Damon > Twilight > Everett > M&C#3 > Port Damon > GoM > Earl > Daybreak
Since I'm bored and we're all doing it...

BG&E > GoM (3rd release) > BoT > BA Everett > Damon > Everett > M & C 4 (non-infected bottles) > Earl > Twilight > Port Damon > BA Maple Syrup straight >

Did regular side by side with BA Everett (2nd release), and preferred the BA but it was fairly close (as you can see above). The BA was just so wonderfully oaky and had perfect carb.

Can't stress enough two things. #1. These are definitely my opinions based on the batch(es)/bottle(s) I've had. More importantly #2. The difference between the top of my list and the bottom is very thin. I give BG&E a 4.75, but the rest hover between 4.2 and 4.5 and try and take into account style, but of course also takes in outside factors such as expectations versus reality. I would say I had very high hopes for GoM and found it to be disappointing which may have skewed it lower on the list. Clarifications*: BA Everett was the first of the one's from this year not the 2nd. Everett is multiple batches (1st one I had better than most recent). M&C4 was infected, one bottle more sour than the other (one not showing full on sour, but tartness was there). I think it was a fantastic sour stout as I got a good amount of bourbon and chiles on the end even with the sour. But I don't rate it here because of the sour factor.

So this seems to have gotten a bit out of hand but I would mostly agree with eb1 with the exception of the few I haven't tried (Damon, Port Damon, MC3). Also have a hard time putting Daybreak at the bottom of the list, maybe swapped with Earl?

Wish people would cut the **** with Adam, he's a good dude.

Ann >>>> Flora > Mimosa > Le Sarrasin > Art > Juicy. Those six and Aaron comprise the top of my HF list, not including hoppy stuff.

If you can't bust someone's balls for being verbose, what good is an internet forum? No malice was intended.

DING! (not that Ding)

doesn't matter which BA Everett we're talking about, they're all relatively subpar compared to the rest he's done, with exception to Daybreak and the Fear & Trembling series

Cool, no worries, sorry about that. Just wanted to avoid a situation like a couple weeks ago with people piling on. Carry on.

Ann > Le Sarrasin > Flora > Art > Who cares after those 4 beers?

Nordic > Honey Badger > All other HF beers

SRS, not sure why but I <3 me Nordic and ISO all the time

Flora>Fresh Mimosa>everything else. Ann is still the most overrated beer from HF.

GoM b2/3 or BG&E are the best of the BA stouts.

So.... Everett tomorrow?

No Everett this week..... Tap list will remain the same 5 for the week. He brewed Abner, Everett, Harlan about 2 weeks ago. So I'd expect Harlan and Everett next week as Legitmacy, George are probably towards the end.
