It looks like they took the page down on ticketalternative. It had been up, but the comments section at the bottom said something about ticketing being "postponed indefinitely." I'm worried that they're thinking that construction will continue to make a festival unfeasible.

was it ever announced that the page was up for submissions?

I'm traveling to HF on Thursday, so this is excellent news.

Is this barrel-aged? If not, $15 for a 500mL is pretty steep.

"Oak-aged." Not sure what this means - that was the description when it and Aaron went up, but Aaron was referred to as bourbon barrel aged. Seems odd that one would put an old ale in virgin oak... I would ASSUME it's bourbon?

"Peleg Hill Jr. (1757-1831) was our great, great, great, great grandfather and one of Greensboro’s original inhabitants. In his honor, we crafted this old ale and reserved it with our resident microflora in third-fill bourbon barrels from some of our favorite distilleries. For over 18 months, it was allowed to leisurely develop its complex, unique flavors and express both the character of its environs and its history. ."

When HF hadn't put much up on their website, I looked up the page on TicketAlternative. This was probably 7/1. There was a 2014 FoFA page with details and the submission window listed as starting on 7/2, so I went back on 7/2. It was not open for submissions yet. There was a comments section, and a TA staff member replied to somebody's query about the window with something like, "We've been told that the ticketing has been postponed indefinitely." But it sounds like facesnorth got some legit beta from the staff that things would proceed as planned.

Sure sounds like it is, at least, "wild," if not sour. That's pretty typical of the style historically, if not in the past decade or so, right? Gale's, for example, has brett, right?

Yup, stock ales were generally infected with brett. Actually, I believe that brett was first isolated from a London brewery's yeast.

Has anyone had any infection issues with M&C 4? Another poster mentioned via BM he had heard some rumblings of a possible one, and I see a few Untappd reviews that suggest the same. Wanted to know before I send anything out so can give a heads up at least.

I had a taste of M&C4 at the Bullfrog Le Roar release thanks to some nice people at the next time. It tasted not great (the worst HF beer I have to date by far), but I didn't think it was infected.

hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggg!!!

As an old ale ticker, I need this in and or all around my mouth.

Wait for it...

EDIT: No dammit go back to the original post, you're giving too much away. Let the people learn on their own...
Lol stop being dicks. This is copied from the FoFA ticket alternative page. It looks like you can share DDs so that could help.

Designated Drivers
Because of our location and inability to offer camping this year, we know that this could present a safety issue. With that in mind, we have elected to require designated drivers for attendees. We will provide a free designated driver ticket with each ticket purchase (one DD ticket per pair or single ticket purchased), so that we can ensure that everyone is safe and sound.
The DD ticket will include free non-alcoholic beverages, a voucher good for one food purchase from our vendors and event entry to enjoy the music and (we hope!) wonderful weather.
Carpooling and DD-sharing is encouraged, especially for those of you coming from great distances. Attendees must enter with their designated driver; attendees without a designated driver will not be admitted. Security will be on site to screen drivers and administer sobriety tests if needed for all out-going cars at the end of the event. We hope you understand that we have our attendees’ safety and best interests in mind, and hope that this will ensure a relaxed and stress-free environment.

"Just a quick update to let everyone know that the event is, indeed, still happening August 16 and ticketing information will be posted very soon. Thanks for you patience!

Bob"

went up minutes ago...

it's up on ticketalternative.

they should've just up'd the ticket price and hired a party bus or 3 to go to a few locations, would be safer and much less coordination required. hopefully camping comes back next year, this was always the best (and my favorite) end of summer event

Can't wait til someone gets into a fight with whomever is administering these sobriety tests for people leaving the festival
I remember a couple FoFAs (or maybe a harvest fest) back there were VT staties parked at the bottom of hill road. I'm sure they are getting pressure from somewhere on this.

Also it doesn't say that the DDs have to have a drivers license. Wonder if my 3
Month old can be my DD?

That will be fun, but it will be much better when we find out that there's some dude posting FT: Me as your DD ISO: walez, he collects his loot and then offers to cram the 20 people he's driving for into a Fiat 500. I DEMAND PICS!

Look, I didn't invest in that roof rack for nothing, man

I actually did not know that. That explains JP's Biere de Mars.

The JP Biere de Mars is based on the historic Biere de Garde style (similar to Bon Chien) rather than Stock Ale, though there are definite similarities historically as reddish-brown malty ales in oak that often became infected due to (lack of) sanitation procedure during earlier times.

Then people better find non-beer drinkers, because anyone who can sit through a HF festival without being allowed a drink deserves some nice beer to make up for it.
