It's also under new ownership, and they don't sell the fishing tackle and all that anymore. I liked the idea of Mad Taco being there more than the execution. But it's always been my favorite of the Waterbury pubs and I hope it doesn't lose that vibe.

Aw, ****. They don't sell fishing gear anymore?

Blackback was / is my absolute favourite of the three big spots in waterbury (and i love propig). Really gonna miss having a kimchi taco with my hill farmstead when im there, but hopefully the owners realize they have a very special spot that beats out almost anything in vermont and dont go too wild on trying to change the place. Great atmosphere, a taplist I would kill for, and within stumbling distance to the res, pro pig and back to the stagecoach. Whats not to like?

If anyone is around, flying into Burlington Thursday night and then hitting HF on Friday morning. Planning on hitting Parker Pie and then making my way back to Waterbury for the night Friday. Would definitely like to meet up with some TBers Friday night in Waterbury if you are around. Probably back to Burlington on Saturday before I have to be in Middlebury Sunday.

Anyone have any recommendation on some good hikes to hit between those places? Would love to drink beer and take a couple of walks through the wood.

Prost!

Dan

Am I the only one who was consistently disappointed by the mad taco @ blackback? I LOVE the waitsfield and MontP locations, but thought the good at blackback sucked 90% of the time.
never cared for it either... Always ate at Pig or Rez and walked over to BBack

Hm, not sure about that. They had 5 up for sale it looked like. Sounds like 4 were for sale on weds, too.

Magnums on a Thursday? Is that a first I believe?

They put brother soigne magnums out on a Thurs afternoon around 3:30-4pm the day after the Flora BB release. Shaun just walked out with a couple bottles and put them on the shelf. Phil said "he just likes to put them out randomly to surprise people"

If anyone comes across an Anna magnum at some point it would be really something to crack it open next month at my wedding. I would make a hell of an offer for one.

I'm surprised it's lasted this long. There must be tons of it. I'm hoping it lasts one more week. Will be up there the morning of the 3rd

A super barrel of Ann, Art, Flora, and Elaborative 2?

Or a super barrel consisting of Florence, Anna, Arthur, Clara, wine barrel aged for 5 years.

This looks like one of the new 500mL bottles they have started using like with the most recent batch of Wheat is the New Hops. Look at the size of the foot of the glass vs the bottom of the bottle.

Key word is " Looks like "

Its a 750 tho
