I really can't wait for the temps to finally come up. I've got 12 taps in right now, all bone dry. I haven't been excited about tapping until this thread took the turn into syrupville. I haven't bought syrup in years, but I will make exception for the BA Syrup.

Also, everyone that gets to try Hill Farmstead beers before release and weigh in on price, bottle counts and taste on the Internet...so cool.

I wish I could try the beer before it came out. Buying beer and drinking it after public release is so amateur. I need cooler friends.

Has anyone had the new version of Wheat is the New Hops? I wasn't crazy about it when I had it last year but am curious about how the current release compared given the talk of "the original vision." Were there problems with the batches brewed away from HF?

I hear the HF hype makes this version tastes significantly better than the last.

That question is very upsetting to Adam Jackson. Please ask again tomorrow when it is released.

Blackback described W/NH as a sour. Can anyone confirm? It's been on draft there since last week.

I mean, it has Brett and is (partially?) fermented in wine barrels. Whether or not it's actually sour, given the lack of definition of these terms in American beer culture, a bar calling it one is totally unsurprising.

Now that it's officially 2:31PM EST, Wheat is the New Hops has been released for 2.5 hours. I will now allow you to discuss how it tastes. The Ajax Embargo has been lifted.

Thanks for your cooperation.

PS: I still need cooler friends. Please advise.

Whoops, for some reason I thought it was already on the shelf last week. I'd still be curious about what's different with this one and whether something went awry with the previous batches.

the version Blackback had on tap 2 weeks ago was not sour or even funky in the slightest. tasted like a slightly hoppy wheat pale ale

It's not sour.

It's pretty good, but far from my favorite HFS release. The nose is wild, though.

500mL stubby bottles are neat.
Only grabbed two for myself, don't really think this one is worth sitting on for too long but who knows.

I was wondering if it was only intended to drink fresh but figured the brett could help this beer develop with time... I asked Shaun and he said it's good for either

guys, my great-grandma just died. can we have a moment of silence and ISO:FT posting for dearly departed great-grandma Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup?

had one last night. taste is great, def nothing sour.

however, like every HF bottle I ever purchase, I wish I'd waited a month or two to open.
Carbonation was lacking and that kills enjoyment of their stuff, for me.

Anyone know how the stock of Beyond Good and Evil and Wheat is the New Hops look? I'm tentatively coming up on Saturday and hoping both are still around! Been like six weeks since I've been up there, starting to get the itch.

I'm pretty cool and am FT my cool friendship. All I ask in return is a regular gopickitupformebro of HF shelf Saisons.

Once we agree to these terms I'll send you a bunch of pics of me doing cool stuff that you can self impose your pic on and post to Facebook or other social media.
