Back to 2/per tomorrow?
Thanks DmouthCaliBrewz for sharing the new Norma with me today. It tastes fantastic right out of the gate! Get one if you can. I really like this batch a lot more than fresh '12 norma, the '13 is already amazing.

Perhaps I'm being ornery here
you rang?
sorry, new username made it hard to resist
2012 Norma was brewed in March of 2012 and released exactly one year later. Label says 2012 coinciding with the brew year. Not confusing to me. Today's bottles say 2013. I'm going my what the label says, not the year it was released. I get your point.
I'm not confused.
As for comparisons. I had a 2012 3 weeks ago and a 2013 today. 2012 is maybe a bit dryer and more lemon tartness. But this years is way better fresh than last years fresh bottle. It's gonna be hard sitting on this one
Shaun's decision I guess.

Whether it confuses hardcore HF followers like those in this thread isn't so much the problem, because people meeting that description are unlikely to be confused by something like that. It goes against long-established industry standards for no particularly good reason. Why do that? It's just going to lead to at least a set of parentheses every time someone mentions a vintage of these beers in conversation.
I'll take off my fanboy hat and agree with you. Every HFS label says "bottled on" as far as coding. Only Norma had a brewed on vintage. So even the most HFS lovers get confused as Norma is different than the normal dating convention.
So I don't disagree but it's obviously intentional Norma is vintage date and not bottled date.
Shaun's decision I guess.
I think it's the brew date because Norma is brewed on the day of his grandmothers passing, correct? Probably a tribute to that date every year.
Ryan is correct. It was... solid.thanks o mighty whale hunter ryan
