I'll be there with vonnegut21 next Friday, sounds like there should be some decent bottle options available. If anyone wants to meet up at HF or after in Waterbury for some beers, let me know. Also, if anyone in the Waterbury area feels like picking up a case of Heady for me that week (given that the day the cannery closes is the same ******* day we'll be there...), I'll happily pay you back plus give you a tip in the form of a nice bottle for your troubles.

Made the trek to HF yesterday. Construction is coming along very well.
Only Arthur bottles were for sale. Bummed we missed Brother Soigne + 5 Sciences by 1 day.

Shaun gave us complimentary pours of bbal aged maple syrup. Said it's something he'll be bottling in the near future. He also mentioned that it will be "very expensive".

Anyone going up in the next few days that could pick up an extra Soigne and Arthur or 2 for me? Would really appreciate it, BM me if you can.

No published limit on Soigne (so probably "reasonable" again, like Arthur). 1 per person for 5 Sciences ($20) and Vermontoise ($12).

When I'm up on the 16th for the Tap Takeover, it's very likely I'll again buy a case of this. Opened a new Arthur a few days ago. Heavenly and will tart up nicely over time or at least that's what I'm praying for.

JulianB - It's possible I can help you out with the case. Some stuff has to happen first but if I'm passing through Waterbury next week, I'll get you a case. Likelihood is 50/50.

Even better than convivial? If i had to rate the saisons (non ba)

Arthur > Vera Mae > Florence > convivial > Anna > Edith > Soigne

BA is
Art > Flora > Norma > Ann

Have had exactly zero of the BA saisons (I haz a sad, someday I'll make it up for a Flora release... maybe..), but my saison rankings, having not had Soigne and Edith, are more like:

Convivial > Vera Mae > Anna > Clara > Arthur > Florence

the thing is, though, i feel like we could do this forever, and everyone's going to provide totally different rankings - and the fact remains i'd rather drink a Florence than most other saisons on the market.

looking forward to getting to try Soigne tomorrow, a lot!

To add to your point, I think Edith doesn't get enough love. That was one of my favorites, without a doubt. For sake of proving your point about everyone ranking them differently, I'd go like this:

Vera Mae > Edith > Arthur > Anna > Convivial > Soigne > Clara > Florence

For BA wilds, I'd go this way:

Mimosa > Juicy > Flora > Norma > Art

God I love HF saisons. I'd drink them about 75% I drink beer if I could. I LOVED the last batch of Clara BTW, it was so light and so flavorful, I couldn't get enough of it.

You're going to be blown away by Soigne. It's probably the best beer I've had all year. Enjoy it!

Hit the nail on the head right there. I love stouts, but I've noticed that most of the beer I drink is either from Upright, HF, or Block 15.

Might I also add that this year's Sankt Hans was ridiculously good? We went up for the DBD/Satsuma release and ended up buying a case of Sankt. Brought it to a local bottle share at the Brooklyn Brewery and people couldn't stop raving about how amazing it was.

That's the easy part. As much as you're allowed to. :)

But you know, when it's a "reasonable" limit, a case of one may be reasonable, but perhaps a case of both is not...

yeah, i missed that one also but heard awesome, awesome things!

Absolutely. Batch 1 of Sankt Hans was the "worst" saison they've made...I was blown away by this year's. I'm not sure if there's been any official word on this, but that recipe must have been tweaked a bunch. It's just going to get more tart too, can't wait to see how it ages.

Hehe my friend once called Sankt Hans "Stanky Hands" while drunk. Safe to say that's the name we use most now.

Number45 I loved B1 Sankt Hans but only bought one bottle of it in August (FoFA 2012) and forgot about it. Opened it this past July with a friend (10 months old at that point) and it was freaking amazing. Lactobacillus took hold and did really wonderful stuff to it.

Haven't had any of B2 Sankt yet. Might open a bottle for Christmsas.

I'll stop posting in this thread sometime soon, but does anyone know if there's glassware for sale right now? I've struck out the last couple times I've been there and there's no mention of it on the website anymore.

Usually they only post when they're sold out on the website. Usually.

I like this little saison ranking thing I seem to have inspired. Don't get me wrong, I'll take any and all of them over most every other saison I've had. Soigne is just.... amazing.

But if I were to rank them:

Soigne/Vera Mae > Suarez > Edith > Florence > Arthur > Anna > Clara > Sankt Hans

BA Saisons/others:

Ann > Norma > Art

Never had Mimosa and haven't popped one of my Floras or my Satsuma yet.

A couple weeks ago when I was there for CD7 they had oversized wine glass with black font (the one that was a "mistake" since the font is not bold). I assume they still have glassware on hand if it's not listed as sold on out the website.
