You were so drunk at the anniversary party you couldnt tell the difference between twilight and the sleet hitting you in the face

I'm man enough to admit you're probably right because I really tied it on that day. Can't blame me during that free for all of delicious beer for the VIP session.

didn't have a single drop of beer that day. volunteered in the snow until I was relieved. packed up my tent and went home. I spent the night at HFS on Friday night and that was bearable with my sub-zero bag but wasn't going to camp out another night since the bottle release ended up being cancelled. that was an insane festival. One for the history books.

such a shitshow. emphasis on ****.

ISO: Arthur

If anyone is heading up and wants to trade or gopickotupformebro please let me know.

According to Twitter, Arthur will likely last 2-3 weeks, which is good. I'll probably be making a trip up there a week from Saturday because I'm down to just one bottle of Arthur and I don't like that.

I missed CD7, anyone want to do a trade?

Very much looking forward to this year's BoT ... rumors of carbonation in this batch are pretty exciting.

Anyone who is sitting on some BoT from last year might be in for a nice treat. We've opened two bottles recently and they've both been fantastically carbed. I've talked to a few other people who have experienced the same. Maybe it just needed some time in the bottle....

this year's twilight is so much worse than last year's. :( :(
Honestly, I thought last year's was pretty middling itself.

Agreed! We opened one a few weeks ago and it was excellent.

Possibly my favorite HF beer.

The last 3 I have had have all been phenomenal.

Any clue if there are limits? Last time I went I think it was 6/person.

Twilight of the Idols marks my first upset with HF :( I couldn't pick up on any vanilla, cinnamon, or coffee. My girlfriend said she could taste a little bit of cinnamon but otherwise it didn't seem any different from a standard porter.

"Within Reason" according to Shaun. I bought 12 today and no one seemed bothered by that. I will be drinking every single one of them over the next 6 months. Arthur is my favorite saison and at $10 per 750ML...heaven.

I wish I lived closer for this exact reason...by far my favorite beer they brew! If anyone gets any extras, let me know.

I'm prepared to be shat on for making a case of arthur "NFT" but whatever. They last sold Arthur at anniversary fest in May, I think it was 2 per person and it sold out so I haven't had any arthur in close to 6 months. I'm very very excited to have some in the cellar again and I'm sure most of it will be shared with beer geeks who crash at my place periodically or shared with family at christmas, etc.

also, let me know if you drive up. I'm on I-91 about 50 miles south of HFS just 5 minutes off the Interstate. Just drop in, grab a beer on your way up. Offer is open to anyone here.

vonnegut21 and I (and maybe Bluecane ) will be at HF and UN Waterbury on Friday Nov 15 if anyone wants to hang out and have some beers at various locations. I'm hopeful the rumor of Arthur lasting until then plays out, it would be nice to take some bottles back to South Carolina after such a long drive.

four

it didn't. at the end of the fest i was offered extra allocations for sale.
Think it sold out shorty after.

Also while the official limit was 4, people were definitely going back up and/or going to different people selling the bottles to stock up. I saw one guy make 3 trips down the hill with bottles.

Julian, i was told "2-3 weeks" today for Arthur. You are likely going to luck out. So you won't be here on the 16th for the parker pie tasting? It would be great to finally meet you. If not, have a great time in Vermont and spend lots of money at the bars!
Would be awesome, but I am really, REALLY hoping that Soigne gets put on the shelf by then. I could definitely take 12 of those just for me.

Unfortunately not, we are headed back to NY. Some other time hopefully! If this trip is as good as I'm expecting I'm sure I'll want to visit again.

Stupid good. I shared my first bottle among 7 people. Won't make that mistake again.

Any impressions yet from people who have popped a CD7?

Had it tonight it and it was pretty damn awesome

Despite my rather postive review on the other site, I wasn't terribly impressed with CD7, especially compared to CD6 which folks seem to be down on. However, I am sure CD7 will be better with time. But the same can be said for CD6. If you think about all the beers that went into CD6 (Juicy, Flora, Sankt Hans, and Clara), they are all much better (IMO) after 6 months or so in the bottle, so I'm betting come February CD6 will be mind blowing.

Enjoyed both CD6 and CD7.

All the CD6 components drink nicely with age on them, however, strongly prefer Juicy fresh.
