So......can I stop refreshing my Junk Mail folder now?
Don't laugh! But I was very confident I was going to win yesterday for some reason, even though I never win anything. I didn't get any emails and was surprised. Called my wife and she didn't get any. I figured she must not have known how to navigate her tabs or spam folder to find it. Was literally shocked when I got home and she in fact did not win! So then a sense of finality settled in, when something unusual occurred. I remembered that I decided to sign up using my real name email instead of my common one, to break the cycle of never winning anything. And it worked! I never check that email and I can only imagine how I'd have felt if I remembered this 4 days from now....

I'm 35 years old and might be the biggest loser on the planet. The only thing I have literally ever won in my entire existence was when I was 6 years old. My elementary school library had a contest where everyone in our grade had to guess how many seeds were in an apple, with each student submitting the number and our name on a piece of paper. The kids who guessed correctly then had their guesses placed in a jar and the librarian drew one winner. I won. The prize was a rotten apple that was molded into the face of Johnny Appleseed. That happened nearly 30 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday because it was the only thing I have ever won in my pathetic life.

j/k congratulations?!

Headed up tomorrow. My buddy who was supposed to join had to drop out. Anybody interested in splitting a bottle of Anne (if it’s available anyway)?

I'm IN. Traveling to HF for the first time with some SoCal homies (4 of us). Flying in and out of Boston on Wednesday the 24th and Monday the 29th.

We will be spending a long weekend in Burlington and going to HF at least once, maybe twice. Bringing tons of great beer to share and/or trade. No doubt buying tons of great beer while out there, to drink and/or bring back home. Get at me if anyone wants some SoCal goodness, things like Homage, Cellador, Highland Park, Monkish, Sante Adairius, Modern Times, Masumoto peach berrs....

Good times. Can't wait!

T-minus 72 hours until GO TIME.

Just following up on this. I believe the homies and I will be targeting a Friday, 4/26 day at Hill Farmstead (even though we all struck out on the Ann lottery), and possibly a return visit on Sunday, 4/28 day as well, if the experience is just mind-blowingly fabulous and/or there aren't enough other distractions for us in Burlington and elsewhere in Vermont. I'd say Friday is the only sure thing.

Otherwise, we will be spending the evening on Thursday, 4/25 in Burlington, plus Saturday 4/27 in Burlington and Waterbury, and just going with the flow over the 4 days and enjoying the retreat.

Any locals or out-of-town HF/VT crusaders that would happen to be in or around these parts on these days, and would like to share some bottles and/or conversation, by all means, please hit me up.

Will have some delicious SoCal treats to share and/or trade. Let me know if anything in particular sounds enticing, from Homage, Cellador, Highland Park, Monkish, Sante Adairius, Modern Times, or especially Masumoto peach stuff from basically anyone who makes it.

Here's one of the recent goodies that will be making the journey, a Le Grand nectarine-focused, lambic-inspired collaboration between Cellador Ales and Woodshop Beer Company (me):

Should be good!

Just a heads up that HF is closed on Sundays.

I'll be up on Friday around noon with diesehrl drinking some onsite bottles with the wives. Happy to share a bottle or two.

Doh. Good call. We will *not* be going to HF on Sunday, then. Ha! Maybe Thursday or Saturday, I guess. But definitely Friday.

These are the problems with "going with the flow" and not really planning ****.

I’m going to be at HF Friday as well.

I’ll be the guy looking at a mug of Poetica the way all of our wives/girlfriends wish we looked at them.
