So at this point we can assume that Shaun isn't the most modest, "awe shucks can't believe people love my beers so much" brewer, right? To me, if I didn't like people lining up and causing a **** show on my beautiful property, I probably wouldn't announce a brand new BA ancestral series beer that happens to also be a very common name 5 days out. This just screams like it'll be art b3 again. Just silently drop it Wednesday or just make it on site only.

I've got no problem with this approach at all, but I just don't want to hear anymore talk about not lining up early, respecting the property, whatever. You can't have it both ways these days, unfortunately.

Oh on a totally personal note, this week is my usual week to head to vermont skiing with the kids, but this year we decided to push the week into March. So I am simultaneously FOMOd and stoked. See, my usual Wednesday, I usually drop the kids off at ski lessons at Smuggs and then high tail it to Hill for open. Grab my bottles and a pour and head back so I can ride with them in the afternoon. I'm thinking that my usual plan would not have worked out too well this week!

P.S. my opa's name is Sam so trade me your 1pp beer for my local walez.

maybe it's time for you to take a break from FB...

I've been mostly avoiding trolling, but the Prairie Dawgs crap has gotten out of control (well, it started that way) and taking the piss felt like the move to make last night. The fact that people think I'm mad is amusing.

I was just messing with you. It warms my heart to see your post notifications.

This will not be a traditional **** show.

Elaborate backstory, check.
Pedigreed contents, check.
750ml and waxed, check.
Commonly used name, check.
Rediculous pre-trade offers, check.

Full. Blown. Diarrhea. Circus.

Could get even more fun if HF does a repeat of the Art b4 release and refuses service to known resellers/rafflers.

Just excited to hopefully get to try Samuel onsite when I go up in April and June. I'm really hoping Shaun made like 10k bottles so everyone's trade valuation crashes when this is still available in March.

Or he goes all Floodlands on these savages and starts selling one to every fifth person in line.

****, do I need to start reading the Floodland thread I was unaware of this (awesomeness) happening.

No, not really. But there was a comment about how Adam? was trying to make his public releases one per household and something was said along the lines of "If you're ******* you can share a bottle of beer together" in regards to guys bringing their wives/girlfriends to stand in line with them.

wasn't the first BA syrup release 1 per household to start?

Fun fact - Shaun had tentatively planned to name an early IPA - Samuel. I recalled the name already being associated w/ Hill.
Vera Mae was nearly named Edward.
Here is a copy, paste from Hill's website:

Brew #1 (March 1 target): Spontaneous Coolship project with guests (Aaron)
#2: Russian Imperial Stout destined for spent Utopias, Brandy, and Wine barrels (Damon)
#3: IPA (tentatively named Samuel)
#4: Farmstead Saison, Spring Variation (tentatively named Edward)

So which IPA got renamed ?
#5 was Abner, a double IPA, that stuck

Do the bigger beers (most recent batch of Art for example) sell out the day of their release? Does anyone think Samuel will last past Wednesday?

Art b4 lasted until Friday from what I remember, but the limit dropped from 2pp on Wed morning to 1pp Wed afternoon. I would hope that they set limits accordingly but beer is crazier than ever so who knows...

It looks like Samuel is only 1 per person from the start. Probably not going to make the trek, but I was curious as to how these beers sold.
