Last keg of batch 1 Genealogy(Spring 2011) on draft for on-site today.

Pretty neat tick, and was very good. Some definite oxidization, minimal coffee, and big roasted malts.

I’ve seen several trades for a 2016 Wine Barrel aged Vera Mae. Presuming this is a different /base version? And there was another wine version?

This is correct however I struggle with this as they are all BA’d so I don’t know the exact differentiation of wine vs what? New oak?

Maybe I’m wrong but all the shelfies see oak so why wouldn’t this? This one is just designated as wine. The others certainly aren’t bourbon, than much o know.

Need some advice please. Thinking about heading up over Thanksgiving with the family. Bearing in mind this is likely to be the only trip I’ll ever make there I’m keen to try to avoid the likelihood of it just being the regular stuff on sale (much as I enjoy that gear too). Looking back over the blogs it looks like they possibly don’t release much that week. Is that a fair assessment?

Eh not particularly, especially given the trend of the hype. Tell ya what man. Go, enjoy the experience as I whole heartedly think you should and if you strike out on limited bottles, I got you for C+S, cool?

Additionally I’ve found winter to be better for releases since it deters flatlanders and city folk who can’t handle the driving.

It's still worth it for the onsite bottles and atmosphere even if you can't take anything good away.

That’s a fair assessment, but the trade off is that it tends to be a very relaxed atmosphere if you’re hanging out for on-site. Or if you’re in a hurry to go do family stuff, then at least the lines aren’t bad. I’ll be there Wednesday at open if you want to split anything.
