Also, how is this batch of Double Galaxy? I've only had it once and that was a couple years ago but I still contend it's my favorite IPA ever.

Currently sipping (yet another) one. I can't get enough of it. At least as good as you remember. It was an eye-opening DIPA for me a couple years ago. More refined now, better hop expression and aroma. I'm going to be very sad when I finish my last growler of it.

It's great. Also my favorite IPA ever. I think I might have liked last winters batch a little more, but I'm nitpicking. This batch of Abner though... Damn. Something special.

Thanks for the feedback on Double Galaxy. When I tried it several years ago I remember it being jaw droppingly good. Since then I've had Abner, Susan and some others several times. All of which are world class. But I always remembered Double Galaxy being a notch about those other IPAs but wasn't sure if I was crazy.

You guys are killing me with the Double Galaxy talk. I was there at opening today but the line was already 2+ hours. Just grabbed some Convivial and Florence and bailed. Obviously on a normal day I would have stuck it out, but my kids really wanted to hit the Stowe winter carnival. Of course the argument should be made that a man with priorities so far out of whack doesn't deserve such a fine beer.

First time I ever tried Hill Farmstead beers was when a bar in NYC put on Abner, Double Citra and Double Galaxy the same afternoon a couple years ago. All great beers, but I definitely remember Double Galaxy being the standout of the three. Some day I'll actually make my pilgrimage up the brewery.

Agree to disagree on this one, it's a beer brewed in the lambic style. I understand HF will not do this, but if they named it "Hill Farmstead - LAMBIC"...big letters across the label L-A-M-B-I-C. Would you not buy it b/c he called it a lambic? Same goes for Kölsh, Czech Pils, and any of the other "regional" beer styles.

So what you're actually trying to say is that you agree with me in that it's a beer brewed in the lambic style, but since it's brewed in American it isn't CALLED lambic?

Lets get one thing straight: If Hill Farmstead brewed a spontaneous beer and titled it "Hill Farmstead - *******" with big letters D-O-G-S-H-I-T across the label, I'd buy it and drink it. And when I found out how delicious it was, I'd go back the next day and buy more

Reading comprehension, give it a whirl.

Also, as a side note, if you gave me a pour of being and time and told me it was belgian lambic I wouldn't doubt you. The funk profile is the most pungent and complex of any American spontaneous beers that I've had the pleasure of trying.
