Those Art bottles are sexy.

Anyone had a Clara yet? Thoughts?

I need to get some Clara in my life.

I opened a Dorothy tonight and that beer really grew on me. I think I like it better than E.

I opened a Dorothy tonight too, and also enjoyed it much more than I remembered when it first came out

Am I alone here that I sort of wish Hill Farmstead didn't promote bottle releases anymore? I'd much prefer to wake up on Tuesday and see that Art will be available Wednesday.

I think it's because you're relatively close and a part of you selfishly wants easy releases and/or for something to hang around so you can stock up. For those whose trips require a little more planning, the heads up and hints are probably appreciated.

If your dog gives you notice that he'll be needing veterinary care you're going to want to know what's upcoming so you can plan accordingly to cover the costs.

my initial post was much longer explaining that what you referenced as me being selfish as not being the reason for my comment. I'm referencing time and time again Hill Farmstead raising issue with the long lines, bottle release madness and specifically they reference locals being locked out of these releases because we don't have the time to get in line at 8AM on a Wednesday. That's me included. I have a job and would get there @ 4:30 on a Wednesday if I leave early enough.

I'm not saying out of staters aren't welcome. I'm saying HFS says "locals can't get our beer....and releases are madness" and then they turn around and promote a new bottle coming out and get everyone excited. Two photos of this beer posted online reached 10-20 thousand people. Look @ HFS' twitter & Facebook followings. Thousands of people saw those photos. Art going on sale will be madness and it could be a single barrel release. no one knows.

I go up to HFS once every 2 weeks at the most. It's likely I won't go up this week which means missing Art if it comes out. If it just appeared on the shelf, it would at least last until next Wednesday so that I could arrange my time to go up and get a single bottle of it.

I've missed a few HFS beer releases this year, the single barrel CDs, Bliss of Absence and had to trade locally to get them because they'd go on sale Wednesday and be gone by Saturday. I'm not blaming HSF for that but those were mostly silent releases. I've had Art before and loved it but with the promotion I'm seeing around it, I might avoid HFS entirely A) because I don't want to wait in line for 4 hours and B) so someone else who hasn't had it will have the chance. I'll get to try a sip of it at a local tasting eventually so it's not that big of a deal.

See now why I shortened my last post? I tend to be a little long-winded and I'm sorry for the misunderstanding in my last post.

As much as I'd selfishly enjoy that, I'm just happy they don't make us line up like cattle waiting to be fed by having a 'release' any more.

Oh my god, no one cares.

Hill Farmstead hasn't voiced concerns over crowds in a very long time. They also have a plan in place to satisfy locals by keeping draft accounts stocked. You're projecting by extrapolating that out to a non-existent concern over whether "locals" can get their hands on limited release bottles at the retail shop. You're attempting to make your selfishness seem populist by appealing to these narratives that don't exist. You want enough Hill Farmstead beer to stockpile to your satisfaction and support whatever system enables such. There's nothing wrong with that. But 3/4 of your post is about factors that make it difficult for YOU to get the beer that YOU want. Why the hell would anyone besides YOU give a ****?

I agree Adam. I'm like the idea of new bottles only being advertised on Tuesday for a Wednesday release.
