In the Rocky Mountains here, it's about 8,000 feet. Without a fence, the deer and the elk eat almost everything green.

I'm going to plant some hops in a large planter on the deck, and another one in the ground. It seems that hops are deer "resistant", does anyone have any direct experience with high altitude, deer-infested :))) hops growing?

I had my bines broke from them roaming around out near my trellis (I could tell cause of their tracks). Also I don't know if this was them or a rabbit but something ate 5 out of the 25 rhizomes I planted last year, right when they were sprouting.
