What got you interested in home brewing? What beers do you like?

I fell in love with "good" beer in Germany I lived there for about three years, for the last two I traveled to different monataries tasting thier brews, and when I got back to the states I couldnt really deal with the lack of good brews and I cringe when I see a bud light in a can.....

I have been reading/researching for about the last year and finally decided to get this show on the road.
my favorite besides trappist, would be spaten oktoberfest, followed by bitburger pils.
