Hi everybody,I'm Fred from central Alabama.I hope I can get some good ideas from this site and willing to share anything I might be able to add.
Now,is there anyone who can tell me what caused a "stuck fermintation" ? I'm not sure what to do with my 5 gal batch of liquid extract brew. Can I re-pitch another packet of yeast? Or is my batch destined for the sink?

Welcome to the forum, where in Alabama are you?

What was the OG of your beer and where has it stopped?

Welcome, Alabama. As far as the stuck fermentation, as bashe said, we need to know what your original gravity was, and where it is now, and how many days it's been since you first pitched, and what yeast you used, and what temperature the fermentation has been going at and anything else you could think to include about the recipe and process.

Is that clear enough an answer?

Hey Guys !!! Slow Down!!! Lol !!! I'm Brand New To Brewing And As Far As The Og ... I Don't Have The Slightest...7th Batch And I Haven't Used My Hydrometer As Yet...i Haven't Been Too Concerned With The Alc. Content But I've Brewed Some Nice Beers.on This Particular Batch I Changed Brew Pots From A Stainless To A Porcelain Coated Steel. During Brewing I Noticed That I Didn't Get A Hot Break Until 35 Min. Into Brewing.( I Usually Cook For An Hr.),and This Was My First Time Using Dextrose,(i Don't Have Access To Much Ingredients In This Neck Of The Woods So I Use What Is Plentiful, cane sugar. The Reason I Think I Have A Stuck Fermentation Is The Batch Started Out As I Usually see it.lots Of Activity, real Fast ,but Contrary To What I'm Accustomed To,it Slowed Down Within A Day And A Half...airlock Bubbles at About I Pr.17-20 Seconds...and I've Been In The Primary For 4 Days now ...i Hope That's Enough Info Guys ...thanks For Responding...by The Way ,i'm In Walker County .

I think its fine. I have had beers that go nuts for a day then nothing, don't rely on the airlock. Just RDWHAHB, use the search is you don't know that means. You should be able to calculate the OG since you are using extract, here is a calculator that will help TastyBrew.com | Calculators | Gravity Calculator
Once you have that you can take a gravity reading but I would still wait at least a week, many people here wait a month before checking the gravity.

Thanks Alot Bashe,i Was Beginning To Think I'd Had My First Failure...
