Howdy All,

I have had an account for a while, was considering making mead back earlier in the year but that fell through due to financial struggles. Anyway, Santa brought me a starter brewing kit for Christmas so I am going to start brewing some small batch beers and learning how to do it myself.

Hard apple cider is a wallet friendly alternative to get SOMETHING fermenting.

Welcome to the obsession/addiction.:tank:

This is what makes the interweb great, bring people with a common interest together across borders and miles. :D

Agree with Paps that cider is an awesome way to get into the hobby. Be warned, though, that is it addictive!

Welcome! (oh so hard to say to a Leafs fans! GO WINGS! (And I mean, Let's get going! What the heck is wrong with you guys?? Please??))

Seriously, good luck. There is a lot of information to be found here and there are many different kinds of drink to make and many ways to make them. I'm sure you will find the hobby rewarding.

I am not adverse to doing ciders, but I don't drink them much outside of the summer, during the winter I like beers that are strong and dark, because they are much like a good Canadian winter, the snow storms are strong and the days are mostly dark.

Hey, 49 years without a Cup (seriously, that predates me by a whopping 19 years and my old man would have been 6 when they last won it), at least you guys have had something to cheer for the last 20 odd years. It's tough sucking so much in such a weak conference too, though we did beat the Penguins the other week.
