I've been brewing for a year. Got 16 extract batches under my belt, started kegging last Dec. and now am presently getting stuff together for all-grain this spring.

The wifee got me a beer making kit last year for my birthday, now, at times she wishes she hadn't. I'm a bliss full brewing blitzkrieg addict. Long live beer yeast!

Good morning - just joined today also. Bought a kegging kit yesterday (5 lb CO2, 5 gal corney, dual guage) - didn't want to cut holes in our garage fridge yet - are there any problems with placing the CO2 tank in the fridge with the keg - any pressure adjustments that need to be made when doing so?

I have a batch that is ready to keg today.

Thanks,

WkendBrewer, congrats! welcome to this wonderful hobby/addiction.

Well, I'm fairly new to kegging but from my experience so far I've had the best results from just doing it and playing around with settings to find what you like best. I like to set-it-and-forget-it, were you pressurize (don't forget to make sure your whole system doesn't leak) to between 8psi and12psi for a week. After a week your kegged beer should be ready for the glass.

There is copius amounts of info and numerous ways to keg out there on web. If you want to you can attempt to carbonate to a level that is appropriate for you style. Heres a great info link for kegging: http://www.bodensatz.com/staticpages/index.php?page=Soda-Kegs#carbonation
Sorry if posting outside links are bad.

As far as leaving you co2 tank in fridge I've read that it is no big deal. I'm leaving mine in fridge until i get the rest of my kegs reconditioned and filled with beer.

With cutting the hole in the fridge for my shirron beer tap I tried to use a hole saw but it didn't work. Flattened the saw teeth cuz it was a wood saw, not for metal refrig. door. Ended up using dremel cutter to make hole. If you can splurge I highly recommend the shirron beer tap. Piece of art that works, imho.

Sorry, I got carried away.

Posting outside link are ok, just make sure that they are safe for working environments. There are a lot of cheese heads here and former cheese heads. Badger Bo's getting his boys primed for the b.b. tourney. If they get the stuff together they should make a good run at the title.

Or when my buddy has mixed one too many whiskey and cokes at the hockey game it becomes, spaghetti strainer, spaghetti strainer, spaghetti strainer...........I guess you have to be there....

The wineandhop shop is my main source for extract kits. Ben and the other dude (I can't remember name right now) almost know my name by now. I haven't talked much to Dave(owner), but I think he's more into wine making, just a guess.

Fyi, tickets for the Great Taste of the Midwest go on sale May 6 this year. I haven't been to it yet. I'm going to give it a good try to snag some tickets for it this year.:rockin:

Anybody been to it?

That saying is great.

Years ago my brother gave me a T-shirt with that on it. I foolishly wore it the day I met SWMBO's stepfather. Hmm wonder why he never liked me??? No matter, I don't like him either.:D That shirt is so old it has long since become a shoprag.....
