OK, I have been a lurker here for a while. I told my wife I wanted to get into home brewing, and for christmas she bought me a brooklyn brew shop kit (1 gallon). Surprisingly, it was an all grain kit. So, after doing about 5 batches, I realized I had to move up to at least 5 gallons. I figured since I learned all grain from the beginning, and I have never done extract (to be honest I still have no idea how extract brewing is even done) , I might as well continue with all grain. So, I built my mash ton from the directions on this site, put all my other gear together, and am doing my first 5 gallon all grain this weekend. So psyched to be getting real with all of this, and I can't wait to be a part of this forum.

Welcome to HBT I also step directly into all grain and I´m happy with my choice, no offense to extract brewers but all grain is the real thing. Cheers!
