Hello, Jack from NY here. I'm a rookie homebrewer, cause I never did it properly, only have some bits of information from my uncle. And now I feel like I should investigate the question more thoroughly. Looks like this is the right place to find some useful information on the topic. Thank you for having me :mug:

Welcome! No offense to your uncle, but I do highly recommend doing a lot of reading. Many things have changed in the homebrewing world, with fresh ingredients, new equipment, better understanding of the process, etc. You won't get bored!

Welcome to HBT! Homercidal said it! Read, Read, and Read. I'd start with How to Brew by John Palmer. Go to his web site www.howtobrew.com it's free and full of great information! As you read, I'm sure you will have questions. Ask them here at HBT or better yet run a quick search because I'm sure it's been ask before. This place is loaded with how to do it info and DIY tidbits.

Thank you for the warm welcome!

I'm based in Staten Island, tend to go round the country a lot.

And thank you for useful links and recommendations. I'm reading threads here, they are extremely helpful, and will definitely have a look at the books and at the site. Can't thank you enough!
