First time posting here. I just got into HB'ing. My first batch is going to be bottled tonight.

I made an Irish Red Ale, a kit I bought for my first time. Single stage.

I am going to try something with this first batch, instead of adding my priming sugar to water, I am going to pull a pot of the flat beer and add the sugar to that and then prime with it.

I read this in a book I have (don't remember the title) and it said it would kick start the carbonation a little quicker.

My wife thought it would be a good distraction for me, but that was before I brewed the first batch in the house. Needless to say she was not fond of the smell of hops and barley filling the entire house.

This spring I plan on starting my second, and third, batch. But this time outside and use a propane burner (turkey fryer).

Tell her you'll buy her a new fridge (and make yourself a kegger out of the old one).
