Hi.. Ron here. i've been smoking meats for over 10 years now and thought making home-brewed beer was just the next step in enjoying a sunday after noon.

What got me interested was a video on utube for 'coopers' kit and ingredients. so basically i'm a total noobie to all this beer stuff (well.. except for drinkin'.. !) the video was pretty straight-forward on the how's and how-tos. humm.. one thing, how do you keep a non-variant temperature on the wort (shoot.. is that right..?)? in long beach it's 94 during the day and 65 and night.

i guess i have a lot of reading ahead of me, and there is a local store called Stine Fillers in Lakewood that i'll be calling and visiting on wednesday (closed on mon. and tue.)

I forgot to add.. i like all kinds of beer, from bud to my fav.. newcastle. i guess it depends on how i'm feeling as to what kind of beer i'll like at the time.. if i'm thirsty.. hech i don't think it would matter.. on the other hand, if i'm relaxing... " may i have another new castle please..? "

c ya 'round,

ron-

Hey Ron, welcome to HBT!

Steinfillers is good place. It is well stocked and offers prices. They have a homebrew club that meets in the store. (However, no offense to Steinfillers, I think HBT is a better source of knowledge.)

While you are there pick up a copy of John Palmer's "How to Brew." This book, if anything, is the homebrewer's bible.

happy brewing!
