Looking start up some home brewing in the not too distant future..

Excellent forum you have here, already spent a few hours reading up old posts.

Can anyone suggest a introduction level book on home brewing? Want to read up on it a bit more before i get into it.

Thanks

JAK

You can read the older edition of John Palmer's How to Brew for free online here: http://www.howtobrew.com/intro.html

Keep in mind that it is a bit old, and some of the techniques are a bit out of date. Personally, I think Charlie Papazian's The Complete Joy of Homebrewing was much more informative IMHO. They're both great resources though, and both are interesting to read.

Welcome aboard! :mug:

Now, that was an interesting insight into the crap that resides in your copy buffer. ;)

oh yes, welcome Zak! :)

I'm going to recommend Extreme Brewing by Sam Calagione. It is enthusiastically written with lots of pictures and explanations. Later on, buy a copy of How To Brew by John Palmer. It is well worth the 20 bucks. And if you buy a home brewing starter kit, there is often a book included with it as well. Good luck!

From what I can make out from some of the posts on here, generally starter kits are a good way to start? Over here they are slightly marketed as gifts rather than anything else, was considering buying my first kit part by part to ensure each is good for re-use ?
