Hey all just started another batch of larger i noticed just as i added the yeast it was up to the 24liter mark so i took some out and got it to 23liters didnt take any yeast but will this affect my brew?

likely be watered down some. i would have left it the way it was. one thing you will read time and time again is don't worry and give it time.

Watered down even if you took some out it would still be at the same concentration. Even if you took out half the batch both batchs would be the exact same if you already mixed it. You should have just left it in and got a few more brews.

Why would it be watered down? You just took some out and didn't add anything right? It will definitely affect your brew.... you'll have 1 liter less of it.

That what i was saying if you were referring to me. That Watered down didn't make since if it was already mixed. The only way to fix to much top off water would be to maybe boil some DME and add it. I was basically saying why would you take some out thats not going to fix the concentration. You could take half of the batch out and they would be the exact same.

it will be less concentrated because of the extra 1 litre. not that that is a ton, even if you take it back out. once it's mixed the solotuion is diluted by 1 extra litre. even if you took half out, it would still be the same mixture. just less volume.

You shouldn't be worrying too much about volume. You should be going by gravity to determine volume.

They've been saying that since I started on here. If it's a 5 gallon recipe or a 6 gallon recipe, the OG should be in the right range with that amount in the fermenter. If it hits that OG with less water, you're doing something wrong. My opinion anyway.

Oh, I see. The recipe was made for 23 liters, but he ended up with 24 then took one out. JDGator's right, it will be 1 liter more diluted than it should be. But that's not very much, so it will probably be fine. I would rely more on hydrometer readings than volume.
