Chiller fitting broke an added water to beer . At 1.048 supposed to be 58 can I boil up some dme and add to fermentor and if so how much???

If its already chilled I would just go with the 48 and count it as an experiment. If you really want the 1.058, you will 1.13lbs of DME. Probably should boil on the stove top with some of your chilled wort, rechill it and add it to your fermenter.

Goal points = 58 x 5 = 290
Current points = 48 x 5 = 240

290-240 = 50
DME = 44ppg
- 50/44 = 1.13

Yeah may do that thanks would eisening ?? Donno if Thats right freezing the beer slowly and pulling out some ice slowly would that work? If so when would I so that at what stage of fermentation?

You would better off just to boil it back down to your correct gallon mark.

Hey thanks a lot for the quick response much appreciated. Just gonna let it ferment out and if it tastes to watery may experiment with the fractional freezing but prob not. Should be just under 5% not to bad.
