Help with Pumpkin Ale

I am new to brewing and wanted to try this pumpkin ale. (https://beerandbrewing.com/VYB-uCkAAAIBZ2ak/article/pumpkin-ale-recipe)

I had a question about adding the pumpkin and spices. Do I make sure that the spices (cinnamon stick and cloves) get transferred to the fermenter?

Yes, per the recipe, add the spices with 12 minutes left in the boil. You can add more later on if you wish.

Add with twelve minutes left but don't move them to the fermenter. Once you taste the beer out of the fermenter you can decide to add more flavoring/spices or leave as is.
