Hey there,
I apologize in advance for asking what seems to be a pretty common question, but the answers vary so much between each person responding and each original post, that I figured I'd throw mine into the mix!
First off, this is the first time I've tried to make mead at home, so I'll bullet off all the steps I took. (Initial gear purchased was a BSG kit)
¤ Sanitized everything with B-Brite (included in kit)
¤ Warmed up distilled water to incorporate honey
¤ After adding the must to my sanitized bucket, pitched WYeast per package instructions.
As you can see in the pictures, I've got a little bubbly/fuzzy log monster sitting on top of my batch.
This is only 17 days after pitching.
My questions are, what could have caused this and can I do anything to save it? I'm not sure what additional information I can give preemptively to further help the pros here give a good answer, but I'll answer any questions that come my way to the best of my ability.
