Needing to add some DME after fermentation has started. Trying to boil 2C DME but don't know how much water to add without it scorching the bottom. Was told to add the least amount possible... but how much is that?

Don't stress about the amount of water... I would start with 2 cups of water and boil it only a couple minutes, stirring the whole time. If 2 cups makes for too thick of a mixture, add a cup or two.

Thanks BigB,

You're right, wasn't that big of a deal. Boiled 5c water and 2c DME. Worked great. Thanks for your help!
