I’ve just started my Thirsty devil kit. My first one ever.
the instructions say to add the 10g hops on day 4 and it should be ready in 6 days.
I’ve read that people leave theirs for 2 weeks but worried it’s to long with hops in.
My fermentation bucket is the Wilko 25l bucket.

2 weeks is the average to let it ferment, a hydrometer is your friend at the end, take a sample and measure the FG(Final Gravity). I would let it ferment for one week then add your hops and wait another seven days then bottle it.
some kits say done in a week which is right but give the yeast time to clean up and fall out.
your beer will be much better if you wait.
cheers

remember to sanitize, sanitize and sanitize everything after a good cleaning.
alot of new brewers sometimes forget to do that and get off flavors or infections.

Oh yes I sterilised everything.
I’ll leave it till Friday and then add the hops for a week.
I was looking to put finings in at the last few days.

3-5 days is fine too, I do multiple dry hops myself.
What kind of finings are you thinking of adding?
I havent made this beer so not sure if you need to add finings.
personally I would just brew the kit as is, dont try to many things all at once.
if the beer turns out good and you like it get it again then try adding a new step.
also write down everything you did so you have a log and you can trace your brewday and fermentation.
this can help down the road when brewing other batches.

and if it was me, if it's not good. try everything you can at once next batch, see if anything helps. and if it does, figure out what's actually important.

but shotgunning isn't a popular strategy for most. just the way i like doing it. i was decent at skeet, but never could hit anything with a hand gun or rifle.....

Many kit instructions have you bottling the beer in a week. Don't do it. You will end up with a huge amount of sediment in each bottle as the yeast and trub won't have time to settle out before you bottle. It will be much better to wait another week to bottle and 2 or 3 more won't hurt your beer. If you wait until the end of week 4 to bottle you will have a hard time seeing the sediment in the bottle because there won't be much to see.

I've seem people say that leaving the dry hopping too long leads to grassy flavors. I haven't noticed that even with leaving them for 2 weeks. It may depend on the mineral content of the water or the variety of the hop for that to happen. In your case, I'd ignore the instruction and leave the beer for more than a week before adding the dry hops. Decide when you will have time to bottle and then add the hops somewhere between 3 days and a week prior to that date.
