my brother is having a brickyard party this sunday and he just tells me last night he'd like me to donate something for the party. it's a BIG party. he has it every year. right now i have a 5gallon batch of my "death by dunkel" that i can transfer to a keg and have force carbed in time. but i'll need more. is there something that's alcoholic i can just kind of throw together that won't require fermentation that i can put on tap before then?

i was thinking maybe like a hard lemonade maybe, just some frozen lemonade, some sugar, some water, and some vodka? anybody got any ideas?

thanks!

brian

buy a keg of something and transfer it to your own bottles ;) After the 5 gallons of dunkel is gone who the hell is gonna notice........

it's not a "pride" issue. worse comes to worse, my bro will just buy a pony keg of some BMC crap for the party. i'm just trying to help out my brother, and thought since i have a kegerator, and two empty kegs/taps somebody on here could help with an idea/ideas of something quick and easy to serve and get his guests good and sloppy.

I like the lemonade idea! I've never done it before (I don't keg) but it sounds great. I'd just mix up the lemonade according to the directions (I don't even think you'd need to add sugar) and then add the vodka. It sounds like something that would go down easy!

Hard lemonade would work well, it kind of reminds me of my "jungle juice" college days. I don't think you'll be able to get anything that needs to ferment ready in time.

I made some ginger ale over the weekend for the kids and it is pretty tasty. I think vodka may go pretty good with that. Basically boiled up some fresh ginger, lemon zest and orange zest, added juice of lemons and oranges, sugar, honey, carbonate, and go.

do you have the complete recipe? something like that might be best, then people can use it as a mixer, and mix their own drinks with it, and the DD's can drink it alone.

i made some home made hard lemonade. it's freaking good. country time lemonade, the powder mix stuff, and one gallon of the cheapest vodka i could find. all in all, $26 for four gallons of hard lemonade, force carbed in the kegerator.

You can force carbonate that stuff???

That sounds like it should be pretty good. You could also go for the classic watermelon and vodka. Cut a hole in your melon and invert a handle of cheap vodka. Doesnt taste as bad as you would think.

You could bring a keg of this. I call it...

White Trash Margarita (5 gallons)

180 oz. Frozen Lime Concentrate
180 oz. Cheap Tequila
180 oz. Beer (BMC)
90 oz. Cheap white wine

Chill it, force carb it, and have the folks pull it on glasses filled with ice.

It's actually pretty good! A keg of Margarita's. Now that's unique, fast & inexpensive.

I've got a very similar recipe to Edworts, called Pink Panties:

1case cheap beer
1 handle cheap vodka
Several cans pink lemonade concentrate
Bunch of ice

Take all the ingredients, dump them in a keg or cooler, and mix well. Add the concentrate to taste. Done.

It's always a hit at the college parties (yeah, I know that's not saying much), and packs a mighty powerful punch. Careful with this stuff; you can't taste the alcohol at all! Should give a good 4-5 gallons.

We made this in the circle of friends I hang out with. We call it "Hop Skip and go Naked!" It doesn't have much of a kick but it will get you trashed quick! It will have you naked before you know it.

Take a sanitized keg to your local brewpub and have them fill it with your favorite. Prolly cost $50, give or take a sawbuck.

update- the hard lemonade was drained in about 3 hours. death by dunkel, my munich dunkel was gone in 5 hours. it was a hit. :rockin:
