So I am about to rack my first beer (a European bock) and now I am trying to figure out what to brew next.
I have been leaning towards either a 1554 clone kit or a duvel clone kit from AHS. I have had 1554 before and really liked it while i have seen duvel and it just looks beautiful. I had also thought about a lawnmower ale or english pale ale from AHS also.
So many options...
I NEED OPINIONS.

Do ya a nice Imperial stout for the winter. Something nice to sip on for the cold weather, unless your south in still rockin some warm weather... I have 6'' of snow at the moment so its a Brown brewday friday and an Oatmeat stout the next week. Good luck on whatever you decide!

A nice Dunkel this time of year would be great. I'm a new home brewer myself, and my next batch will either be a nice Dunkel or a Java Porter.

Maybe an english brown ale?

An English Brown would work if that is a beer you enjoy. Pretty straight forward and really no need for a secondary, so you could have been ready in a few weeks

Given that your first beer was a longer-aging lager, I would go with a quick-aging session beer such as a bitter, a brown ale, or a mild. The English brown ales (Northern or Southern) are probably the easiest you could make, I would say.

I'm doing an RIS this weekend. We had a frozen puddle this morning on the driveway! Winter is officially here in Texas! It was actually only 32... but I guess being that the puddle was outside all night it had a frozen top. I stepped in it and the bottom was liquid... but there was ice!

I don't like clone kits. Why pay $30-40 for something you can put together yourself at your local shop for $20-25.

Also remember whatever you make now you'll be drinking on Super Bowl Sunday.
