I've got family driving in this year from Denver for the holidays instead of flying for once. They graciously agreed to mule in some beers for me that I don't have privy to in 'ol Illinois.

Looking for some help/input on what all might be truly work the time & effort.

I was hoping to get a few of the following:

Pliny the Elder - never tried it.

Some Deschutes [mirror pond? Chasin' Freshies]

Surly if they can find it

Great Divide

Any and all input would be awesome :ban::ban:

I'm typically an IPA/APA drinker but good beer is good beer

I really like Odell's IPA, it's the best I've found, the taste just blows your mouth away. Stone IPA used to be my favorite untill I discovered Odell's. Also there 5 barrel pale ale and the 90 schillings is really good too! Trust me have them bring you 2 or more 6 packs of the IPA, you will be thanking me later

I had Great divide once, didn't seem anything special, don't care to get it again.

Last time I was out in Longmont, me and my buddy downed a 12er of 90 Schilling, I remember it be pretty darn good

They'll have no problem finding Great Divide, Odells, Oskar Blues, Left hand, or any of the other local beers. Assuming Deschutes has their normal distribution there, it also shouldn't be an issue.

Pliny is all about timing. Russian River does distribute to Denver. Their Belgian beers can be found almost all the time in the shops that sell RR beers. Pliny is shipped about once a month, so if they are there at the right time, it shouldn't be too hard to find. Most places have a 2-3 bottle limit, so it doesn't fly out the doors too fast.

Call around and don't ask if they have Pliny in stock, but rather ask when they usually get it.

Definitely, definitely track down some Firestone Walker. Union Jack is amazing. Double Jack is equally amazing, and I believe it's a much better DIPA than Pliny. Pale 31 is also an incredible Pale ale.

I'm pretty sure I can get Firestone @ Binny's in Chicago, I'm going this weekend and it was my list to pick up.

I want to give her a list early so hopefully they stumbled upon a bottle of Pliny on their weekly stops, they live outside Denver so hopefully they might have it??

I'm really after some Surly which I believe distributes to CO in general. I've only heard top notch things about their beers.
