Hello, I am new to brewing and would like some advice on the cheapest way to make alcohol with simple ingredients like yeast, juice, and simple kitchenware. I would like to become more proficient and make more advanced brews eventually but I want to start small for now.
All help is appreciated!

Hi James, welcome aboard!
There's no need to start with sugar, there are plenty of small simple beer kits that will produce something good to drink, using things you already have in your kitchen. Good luck, keep us posted.

Welcome to the group!

I would recommend too looking at a beer kit to start with. The advantage being, everything would be measured out for you. Just starting out it's not so easy, so having a kit to work with will help avoid a failed brew.

Also do some reading or watch YouTube on beginning home brewing. Don't be spooked by some of that advice. As JohnSand mentioned most equipment is already in your kitchen. A fermentation bucket probably isn't, but they are easily found at a local brew shop or the internet.

I third the idea of kits. That is how I started and it was super easy. Check out Craigslist or Facebook marketplace for some basic stuff like a fermenting bucket, hydrometer and maybe some bottles and caps. Starsan and some sort of brewery cleaner (aka Brewery Wash or PBW) are also needed but you can get away with non fragrance Oxiclean I believe Read and check out Youtube as well. Also, ask lots of questions here, these folks are awesome.

Also, where are you located? Might be somebody in your area willing to meet up and show you how they do it.

Thank you for the suggestion I will look into beer kits.
