I got a Mr. Beer for Christmas this year and then found this forum shortly after that. Finally started brewing with the Mr. Beer a week ago and am already looking at upgrading to some real equipment. I think i'm already addicted to brewing and haven't even bottled my first batch!

It only gets more addictive. Good news is you are only an hour from Milwaukee and Northern Brewer.

^^This :)

I haven't been doing this for long, but I can say that the staff at NB have all been very helpful on the occasions that I've been there. The day that I "took the plunge" and decided I wanted to start brewing, one of them spent close to an hour going through everything. Do some research, go in, ask questions, and I'm sure you'll have a similar experience.

If you can make it down to Milwaukee on one of the Saturdays that they offer the Intro to Brewing class, try to get in. It's free, and you get a 10% discount on equipment kits/beer kits on the day you take it. Even though I already had a couple of batches under my belt, I enjoyed it and learned a few things.
