I would put a location but I'm always on the move it seems like. I'm finally going to be able to sit down for a year and actually spend time with my newborn and my homebrewing hobby that I've grown addicted to.

How I got started in homebrewing is kind of odd. After reading in this forum it seems that a lot of people started with Mr. Beer kits, I did not. I was in Tokyo with my wife in 2007 at an Italian reastaurant just a little outside of Tokyo Station. They had a main showcase of Hoegaarden, kegged and not by the bottle. Usually I'm always going for what I know, Asahi, Kirin, or Sapporro, but this time I found it just a bit odd for an Italian restaurant to be serving a Belgian beer, so I got a pint. Well, the moment I put it to my lips I was in love! That got me to thinking, if I really love this beer, what other beers are out there that I might like as well that aren't traditional American styles (water)? Well, after searching and searching I found a few, and then of coarse being stationed at Whidbey Island kind of did me in, I NEEDED to make my own! I've since only brewed 5, 5 gallon batches, but I fully intend to make gallons more!

And then I found this forum. I've been in love with this forum since I found it! Giving up $25 bucks to support you guys is well worth it for the amount of maturity and information that is contained herein!
