I'm new here, got a few posts but have been reading and learning a TON. Currently my first batch is in the fermenter and I'm reading all the ways I could have... negatively altered it. :)

Anyway I'm in Bothell, WA and have been always been searching out brewpubs, now i'm excited to make my own beer. Im a car guy, and I'm a home theater geek as well. Beer, Cars, and Big TVs, what else is there?

Welcome to the forum. A lot of great information here and a great community all around. I live in downtown Seattle but used to work in Bothell. Again, welcome!
 
Welcome to the Forums Brian. Making beer is a great hobby that I have started with a passion.What type of beer did you start with?
 
First beer is a red ale. I wanted something that if I ruined it, I woudln't be heart broken (IPA or Mirror Pond Clone), but if I did a good job I'd enjoy drinking it.

From memory, 6lbs LME crystal I think, 2lbs DME, amber. 1oz columbus hops, half at 45 minutes, half at 55 minutes. 60 minute boil.

I'm SO ANXIOUS right now to try my beer but its only been in the primary for 3 days. :)

Unfortunately you have to wait and that is your pennance for attempting this hobby.:)

Now for the serious part. You have 4-5 weeks before they are good and drinkable so build up your bottle stock with commercial brews ( or buy kegs) and plan the next batch so there isn't a lot of waiting between homebrews.
 
I've already got 5 gallons worth of bottles. I once brewed an amber ale at a Where-U-Brew place, go and use their equipment to make it. There was no priming sugar used and the beer was very flat. I ended up not really enjoying it all that much, but it did leave me with 5 gallons worth of beer bottles. and boxes. :)
