Hello from Tampa

Hello everyone, I'm from Tampa Florida. I am a student at USF and I have just started brewing! I started with my friend Kyle who introduced me to the world of brewing by letting me make a few batches with him. After that I was hooked.

I went on amazon and ordered "Brewing for Dummies" and "The Complete Joy of Home Brewing" and read them both from cover to cover. Then I went to the library and checked out every book they had on the subject. Since then I have purchased some of my own equipment, noobie stuff mainly and started brewing a partial mash ( Honey Wheat Ale) .

I am now working on making a kegorator from a fridge and have plans for my fermentation cooling box. I happen to LOVE beer ,LOVE food and cooking. I find brewing a natural extension of cooking. At any rate, I am very excited and look forward to talking to all of you on the forums.

Welcome you your new addiction, lol. I'm about 3 months into it myself and its constantly on my mind.

Are there any good LHBS in the Tampa area? I'm currently in Maryland but I still have a home in the Tampa area. I might need to find a good store if I go down that way.

I just went to Southern Brewing for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it's like a heaven on earth...assuming you can work your way through the maze to find it.

FYI - they are moving soon. just south on nebraska south of Hillsborough. That will be a little closer to me... so I'm happy.

Good they will be closer to me as well. Also you can get stuff from http://boothsbrewing.com/ out in Brandon on Falkenburg just south of the dog pound. It's not quite up to Souther Brewing, but you can order stuff online.
